Betopper BSW200 in Action with Salisbury DJ Academy in Wiltshire

In June 2026, Salisbury DJ Academy deployed Betopper BSW200 hybrid moving heads and LPC1818 LED PAR lights for a live event in Wiltshire, United Kingdom.

The team provided a complete professional setup built around the DJ booth, sound system and raised lighting podiums. Founded by Darren Kidd, Salisbury DJ Academy is a community-run organisation based in Salisbury, Wiltshire. In addition to providing DJ tuition and studio access, the academy supports live events with professional DJs, mobile entertainment, sound systems and lighting equipment.

Darren has worked as a DJ for more than three decades, performing across clubs, bars, private events, corporate functions, festivals and outdoor productions. Salisbury DJ Academy also works with experienced DJs and technical team members, allowing it to combine performance, equipment and event delivery within one service.

The Wiltshire event reflects this wider capability. Rather than supplying an individual DJ or a standalone lighting effect, the team delivered a coordinated event system incorporating music playback, sound reinforcement, an illuminated DJ booth, podium-mounted fixtures and moving lights.

Betopper BSW200 at the Centre of the Lighting System

The Betopper BSW200 provided the primary moving-head element of the production.

Designed as a compact beam, spot and wash hybrid, the BSW200 combines several moving-light functions within one fixture format. Its optical system includes motorized zoom and focus, together with color, gobo, prism and frost effects that can be selected according to the visual requirements of the event.

Salisbury DJ Academy also used Betopper LPC1818 LED PAR lights to illuminate the DJ booth and raised lighting podiums.

Darren explained:

“We used the PARs to light up the DJ booth and lighting podiums. They are probably one of our most used fixtures!”

In this production, the LPC1818 fixtures established the color around the main equipment structures, helping the booth and podiums appear as connected parts of the overall setup.

The PAR lights performed a supporting but clearly defined role: they provided stable illumination around the physical layout, while the BSW200 units introduced the moving and adjustable visual layer.

Darren’s feedback also indicates that the LPC1818 is not reserved for occasional use. It has become one of the most frequently deployed fixtures within Salisbury DJ Academy’s working equipment inventory.

The Wiltshire event demonstrates how two Betopper fixture categories can be assigned different roles within one professional setup.
